Meet Katie HamannI want to be a Senior Move Manager when I grow up! I must admit, that was not one of the careers on my list… in fact, it didn’t even exist yet! However, I did aspire to become a business owner in a service industry where I could make a difference in people’s lives every single day. My path into this business was rather indirect, but it has led me to an amazing service, allowing me to work with an incredible staff (who you will meet through their bios), and a never ending list of truly accomplished and admirable clients.
I grew up in Cleveland, OH and came to the Richmond area by way of University of Richmond where I studied Marketing and Management in the “B” School. I learned sales and marketing while working at Xerox, Springs Leasing and Party Perfect. The opportunity to assist with the start up of Door to Door Solutions knocked, and I couldn’t resist answering the challenge.
Trying to put our services in a category is too limiting. The best way to describe what we do is to attempt to describe how our clients feel during or after their move. As one client told me after a brief conversation where she began rather out of breath and overwhelmed, “You aren’t really a mover, you are like moving counselors!” We have done our jobs when we hear: “I didn’t think I could do this, but after talking to you I feel much better,” “this looks so much better than I ever thought it would,” or, upon entering their new home for the first time, we hear the mellifluous words, “It feels like home!”
Most fulfilling to me is the opportunity to meet people who have led such rich, full, diverse and challenging lives. It inspires me everyday.
I enjoy spending time with my friends, my family, and doing a variety of outdoor activities - biking, golfing, traveling. I currently serve on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Senior Move Managers.

Meet Donnie HarperWhen I was offered the opportunity to become a co-founder in Door to Door Solutions, I thought and believed there was a need for senior moving services. I have been fortunate enough to watch that need grow and develop over the past few years.
Starting and growing a business is not new to me. For 13 years prior to joining Door to Door Solutions, I was the co-founder and President of Richmond Commercial Services, a local commercial moving and document management company. I sold my interest in that business to become more involved on a daily basis with Door to Door Solutions. My background includes a variety of experience in commercial moving, operations, management, distribution, scheduling and problem solving. I have worked on projects as large as moving 2,100 employees with Signet/ First Union Bank to moving one desk and file cabinet. More than twenty years of experience in the moving industry allows me to share a great deal of knowledge and training with the entire staff at Door to Door Solutions.
I love knowing at the end of the day that we have made a significant difference in our client’s lives, and that we’ve helped someone to make a tough transition a lot smoother. Smiles go a long way to let us know our work has been done to the best of our ability. Knowing we have minimized the disruption a move can cause for our clients and their families is so rewarding.
When I am not assisting someone with their move, you may find me on the golf course, snow skiing, relaxing at Wintergreen, or fishing. I also enjoy cheering on the Wahoos at the UVA football games. My favorite team is UVA, and whoever is playing Tech! I am the proud father of one daughter, Michelle, who is a police officer and Valor Award recipient with Henrico County.

Meet Diane BellI have a B.A. degree in Psychology. I enjoy running, shopping (of course), and spending time with my family and friends. I live in Glen Allen with my husband, Bob, who is an engineer, our two children, Jessica and Bo and a lovable yellow lab, Boomer.
I am definitely a “people person” and Door to Door Solutions is the perfect job as it continually offers me the opportunity to meet so many diverse and truly wonderful people. The hardest part about each project is saying goodbye to the client at the end of the day as I often feel as though they become family overnight.
My co-workers are a pleasure to work with as they share these same feelings and have a commitment to make each move a special experience. Each project is truly a team effort! Few people actually enjoy moving and it is especially rewarding for all of us when our clients appreciate our efforts to make their move a seamless transition into their new home.

Meet Jane Kizer I live in Glen Allen with my husband, who is an attorney, and our three boys. I have an MS in Gerontology and spent 12 years in the field of Social Work before I took a break to be a "stay at home mom". Now I am enjoying my third career as a Senior Move Manager with Door To Door Solutions.
What I like most about working for Door To Door Solutions is that I have the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people. I really enjoy both the clients and their families and the fact that I am providing a needed service. The staff I work with is very professional and caring. I think I can be especially helpful to those clients who are downsizing and are having difficulty deciding what they really need and want to keep.
My Mom was a Depression Era child so I have lots of experience with that "school of saving."

Meet Becky Pierce I was born and raised in Virginia and although I love to travel, I’ve never wanted to live anywhere else!
I joined Door to Door in September of 2005. My previous work and background included 17 years of working in human resources, specializing in employee benefits.
I really enjoy meeting our clients and getting to know them by chatting about their life experiences. I also enjoy hearing about their families. My goal is to make the moving experience as smooth and stress free as possible by assisting in the manner I would want someone to treat my mother and father.
I have been married for 25 years and we have two children. Our daughter is in college, and our son is in middle school. My interests include gardening, hiking, walking my dog, Annie, and family gatherings with my mother, father, siblings, nieces and nephews.
